Why do people do these “tests” is beyond me. Like who has ever made their buying decision based on these videos?!

YouTube advert revenue.

Drop tests gain views, lots of views, Apple and Android fanboy/girls go to war in the comment section.

Race to get the first drop test videos out to race to the top of YouTube can be rewarding, even if the one video doesn't cover the costs of phones used in the video, it's a business expense if you like in the hope they subscribe and watch more of their videos.

Bit weird if you ask me, not seen a car review drive new cars into brick walls to see which speed makes it undrivable.

EXACTLY! Next you will see all kinds of torture tests videos.

Many do, myself included. Explains why Apple markets water and dust proofing. Phones get dropped and get wet when some people use them. If you’ve ever experienced damage from either, actual tests WILL probably influence your buying decision.

I wonder if these guys add AppleCare, and return it. "Oops, I accidentally dropped it. A HUNDRED TIMES!"

If they did it every year with multiple phone then I’m sure Apple would have banned them.

That glass back is less durable than the 7.
Uh...derrrrrr.

It’s glass. What did you think would happen if you dropped it four times from increasing heights?

“Wow, guys. I’m shocked. The glass didn’t survive being dropped reapetedly.”

Please....

Those aren’t tests. Those are just willingly destroying phones. Did you see his other video where in the name of “test” he actually tries to break the phone in half? I mean if you make your buying decisions based on videos like that then good luck to you.

Dumb! Don't watch their video, don't give them revenue. Apple spends billions developing the greatest piece of technology ever invented, a super computer in your pocket, engineers in the 70s and 80s would have killed for one. How does this guy use it? By dropping it on the ground!

Another drop test (that seems more scientific) between the iPhone 8 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8:

Glass breaks.

Water is wet.

Do a drop test of the iphone 4 series vs 8 series. Both have glass backs. Though the 4's are super easy to replace, 8's.. ahh.. not so much. Going to have to pull it completely a part to replace. Yikes!
