First let me say, this is my first post but i have been reading all of the thread and really love this forum.

I have been an 8-10 years android users. Just my last few devices have been. Note 5, oneplus 3, nexus 6p, galaxy s7 edge, pixel xl galaxy s8+ and note 8. U can clearly see i dont last much with one device.

I had the note 8 and decided to try ios iphone 8+. I dont miss android at all. But one thing i want to get this out of my chest is that i see so many people complaining on iphone designed been outdated and all. Dont let the android comunity fool you that u actually need bezeless, curve screen, 18.9 ratio etc. Out of all the devices i mention above. The one i loved the most and regret selling was the PIXE XL. But is also the UGLIEST Of all mention above. The iphone 8+ is actually 100x better looking device.

What im trying to say is that even though pixel xl was the ugliest. I was in love with the device CAUSE OF THE USER EXPERIENCE. The fluidity and easy to use.

After the WOW factor of owning a galaxy s8+ for example goes away. U stop caring about the big bezeless screen and other thing. U wishes that this phone would run like a pixel interm of fluidity.

Im just happy with having almost the same iphone X phone spec right now in this body. Will stay with this phone for a while. After the wow factor of the iphone X goes aways u probably gonna be wishing back a bottlom bezel with a finger print.

If you like how the 8 looks, great.

As for me, I need these to see what you see.

Otherwise, all I see is a whole lot of fugly.

To each there're own, but I don't really see how any rectangular slab of glass and metal is drastically more "fugly" than any other.
It's the camera bump. I have a very strong dislike for it and have since the 6+.

Even though I don't agree with this post, this is an awesome post. Like! :) haha. Hopefully you'll keep posting here even if you get an android device?

That's exactly what my friend says about the pixel xl. The software is what makes it a great phone.

I used a Pixel and it is the closest Android has gotten to get me to switch back from an iPhone to Android. Had the XL not been backordered 5 months I'd probably have one as my main phone (back in the day). Agreed.

Oh, I know most won't agree. I'm out of the average and I'm okay with that.

As far as posting, I don't intend to give up my iPad Air 2, iPhone 6s+, iPhone 5 or iPhone 4s so I'll be around here for quite some time.

And even if I did give them up the original reason for being here was PowerPC Macs, which I use every day (typing this on my Quad G5 right now) so there's that.

Nah, you haven't seen the last of me! ;)

How come no one complains that iPads designs haven't really changed since the Air? How much do Mackbooks, or most laptops for that matter, change? Why are phones treated as fashion accessories that need a fresh look each season?
I've complained about iPads, at least to myself.

And if you ever wander into the PowerPC forums you'll find out how much I complain about post-aluminum body Intel laptops. :)

While I haven’t used a Pixel, the time that I had a Galaxy S5 felt like Samsung’s programming got in the way of how the hardware should work and the software should work. Yes, they could have written some drivers and let it be good, but they got too carried away trying to make a statement.

Wow, a thread on an Iphone forum is turning me toward the Pixel. Looking forward to checking it out now.

Rgarding the camera hump, lots of phones have those these days. A nice leather shell case takes care of it. I know gotta be naked or nothing. I'll take the case and wont drop my phone then and no hump! . :p

I would say the majority use phone cases, so aesthetics is ultimately blinded by a third-party case anyways.

No cases. :)

That may be true and if it were in my instance I would be getting the iPhone X.

But, alas, I am part of the group that is not the majority and therefore do not use cases to hide unsightly phone design. Which you know anyway because we've discussed it many times. :)

I love the design of my silver 8 as well, and I loved my 6 too despite the ugly antenna bands. It's a toss-up between my SE and my 8 for all time most beautiful phone.

The 4S was nice, but the 5/5S was a bit sleeker with the smaller bezels, larger screen, and being a bit thinner. Made the 4S look chunky/overweight.

The only thing that holds me back from grabbing an iPhone 8 Plus right now, is that the X will have OIS on both its duel back cameras. So I'm trying to wait until the 2018 iPhones come out to make an upgrade (I don't want to go to the unproven first version of X yet).

I always thought my silver 5S was *the* gleaming work of art from Apple, and still do. Someday I can't wait to have my opinion changed (still holding on with my Space Gray 6s Plus, which is not nearly as pretty as the silver 5S).

Im sick of this design...had it since the 6Plus! 4th gen on that design....come on X! Cannot wait

It boggles my mind that people screech so much about the shape of the phone. I "get" that having the trendy new color is a "thing" to show-off, but most concerning should be the reliability of the phone and all the new processing power and features included with each generation of new phones.

The pixel is an ugly phone. But android runs great on it.

That tells me that Pixel owners care more about how the phone performs than how it looks. And that's the way it oughta be. :)

It's a decent 1st year showing.

The pixel2 though does away with the 3.5mm jack. That loses points in my book.

Ohh well.
