iPhone 8: make status bar larger?

Is there a way to make the status bar on the iPhone 8 larger?

I'd like my 50+ year old eyes to be able to see the battery level, time, etc.

not really. The one option you have, is as follows:

1. Launch the Settings app from your Home screen.
2. Tap on Display & Brightness.
3. Tap View under the Display Zoom setting.
4. Tap Zoomed to switch from the default setting of Standard. ...
5. Tap Set in the upper right corner.
6. Tap Use Zoomed to restart your iPhone into Zoomed mode.

This will make everything a bit bigger, that might help?

The Zoom setting works on all the screen except the status bar. I appreciate the reply, though!
