Apple used to be all about thin and light (remember the original 6?).

Now the phones get fatter and heavier with each iteration.

iPhone 7 Plus was already too heavy and thick. Now the 8 Plus is even worse.

At least I'm not tempted by any of these new phones.

Will give Pixel 2 a look.

We're talking amounts that no human would realistically notice. Basically, if no one told you it was thicker and heavier, you would likely never notice.

I think your over exaggerating. No one is going to purchase the 8 Plus and make the complaint that it's too thick and heavy. Not to Mention, how many iPhone users actually use cases on their phones anyway, which add weight and thickness to it.

Disagree. The first things I noticed about the 6S Plus after having the 6 Plus were the additional weight and the extra thickness.

The amount is so minuscule, that it is likely negligible in holding. But to each their own. Just means an extra 8 plus for me.

During my time using the iPhone 7 Plus, the device did feel inordinately large, and heavy, compared to other phones such as the Pixel XL, for instance.

i am pretty sure you'll notice it is heavier.

So you can’t get over the fact that the device got a little thicker and heavier. 1st world problems. And the 6s was only .2mm thicker than the 6 how d9 you notice that

I'd look at the Pixel 2 for several reasons: design refresh over the Pixel 1, improvements to an already amazing camera system, and fast Android updates. At the moment, and having used both Android O and iOS 11 extensively - I find Android O to be a more refined and user friendly OS (barring the terrible Phone app, where iOS wins hands down).

Meanwhile women will gladly carry a 20 pound pocketbook/bag or whatever.

Looks like it will be time to hit the gym and bulk up to be able to carry these heavier bulkier phones
