Any owners of the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus notice occasional stutters in the animations when going home, opening the task switcher, control center etc? It's random and doesn't last very long.

Welcome to iOS x.0 life

Just as you cozy up to a mature build iOS of the previous version, its back to bug swatting with new hardware.

Did it on my iPhone 8 before I returned it,

Very occasionally, and it seems to only be when I'm in a single springboard session, if that makes sense.

If I lock and unlock again, the problem is gone.

anyone notice an improvement with 11.0.2?

I would also like to know whether this has been fixed with 11.0.1 or 11.0.2. Probably one of the more annoying bugs in iOS 11.

I like battery life so far, so I'm hesitant to update until I know the major shitt has been fixed.

I don't get how Apple could let something like this happen. They control the hardware and the software. They produce the fastest and most efficient chips on the market, by a very wide margin. How in this day and age, when these phones are so powerful, can there be any semblances of lag, delays or hiccups? Completely ridiculous.

Unless we're just imagining this? Some sort of placebo effect?

You can feel that most of the UI is very very smooth. I wouldn't say super fast, because to be quite honest the animations and specifically the time for the phone to respond to double clicking the haptic button is very slow - but rarther it's just these nasty bugs which should honestly be squashed by beta 5 or 6, let alone making it to the GM and beyond.

Not sure why they don't focus on big bugs first, and small ones later, or why this isn't considered a big bug.

Tired of the stutter on mine. Yesterday in Safari mine was very laggy. I can back to the iPhone to avoid just this.

Mines not all the time, but it's present a good 10-15% of use. I can get over it until fixed, but not very happy about it, considering it's a brand new device and this is the final version of software it was released with, and tested for months to iron out.

The usual gripes, high demands as an Apple customer.

They demand high prices and have always provided a smooth experience. It’s not smooth right now. Stutters and delays. The things Android has fixed. Time for Apple to get out an update that fixes it.

I am disappointed in the way apple handled IOS 11. Iphone 8 with its beastly processor should not look this weak. Lags on 3d touch, RAM management issue where apps don't stay open in the background, some stutters when scrolling through the UI, making it seem like I am using an android phone. This is not acceptable. If Steve Jobs was alive, he would not stand for this either. Quality checks have gone down the toilet with every new update to the OS. I want my buttery smooth performance back. This is why I always stuck with the iphone.

This is what happens to me too. I’ll unlock and everything will be super stuttery for 30 seconds to a minute or so. If I lock and then unlock the phone again, it goes away right away. Happens maybe 5-10% of the unlocks. Very odd bug but that seems to be par for the course with X.0 release from Apple ever since iOS 7. I’m sure it will get ironed out eventually. Phone is buttery smooth otherwise!
