Iv pre ordered every iphone for years and every time it’s been a mad rush to pre order in the first 2 minutes to ensure you would get it on launch or within 14 days of launch. My longest wait was the first Apple Watch where I preordered within the first hour and had to wait 5 weeks.
With the iPhone X around the corner I decided for the first time not to get involved in the madness until the dust has settled and we know more about both phones. Now in the last hour I have received an email and a phone call from O2 practically begging to give me an iPhone 8 plus on contract because my previous contract has expired, guaranteeing that if I ordered before midnight that I would receive tomorrow. I was surprised about this going off all my previous 60 second after launch pre order experiences and wondered whether the iPhone 8 sales have been destroyed by the fact that they are trying to sell a phone that will only be the latest iPhone for a month or two.
I’m guessing the iPhone x pre order and launch is going to be crazy with phones selling out in minutes.
I like the iPhone x but Iv grown very attached to Touch ID so I can understand why people would prefer the 8 but based on my contact with O2 they don’t seem to be selling quite as many as they hoped for.
