iPhone 8 randomly shutting down?

Anyone else having issues with their 8 shutting down randomly? Happens to mine a few times a day, usually when I’m not even using it. I’ll go to use it and it’s shut down. In addition to that, I plugged it into the charger last night because I couldn’t get it to come back on and it said the battery was drained. After 15 minutes, it still wasn’t charged so I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It turned right on. Have an appointment set up at the Apple store but I can’t get in for a few days...wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks?

We have three of them in family (two 8's and one Plus). Have not experienced that issue.

They ran a test or two on the phone and then just replaced it for free. They determined that it was just a lemon. Easy and quick exchange 🙂
