iPhone 8 shipping, help!

i ordered the iPhone 8 literally the minute it was released and I got a September 22rd delivery date, yet for the past 5 days it's just been stuck on "preparing to ship"

Is this normal? I live in switzerland, there's no way they can ship it there within 2 days
 
You'll get it when you'll get it. I understand you want your product as soon as possible but there is near nothing on your hands to get the delivery to happen sooner. Just relax and lay back and enjoy when it comes.

It may already be there in holding.

The delivery date wasn't changed though. Is this a bug??

There's nowhere on Earth except maybe the poles that can't be reached in 2 days. Just be patient. You may be pleasantly surprised.
 
Be patient. If it says you'll get it on a certain date then you're almost guaranteed to get it on that date. Every year people freak out. You'd be surprised how fast they can move these things.

Has this happened to anyone else who ordered an iPhone8
 
A couple of years ago my mate ordered his 6S+ after the launch and it was shipped directly from China to his house in the UK within 36 hours

I suspect the shipping will be updated tomorrow as the couriers prepare to dispatch on Friday morning

My own order for the 8 is still showing as order being processed; hasn't even got to the 'preparing to ship' part yet!

I'm due to collect in store on Friday
 
OP if it says the 22nd, you’ll get it on the 22nd. As far as being patient, it’s perfectly fine to be anxious. However, it is true that you can do nothing to speed up the package.
 
Relax. If it says 22nd. You will get it on the 22nd. Most likely later today or tomorrow it will change to "Shipped" and you will get tracking number then.
 
On the UPS tracking page, you can track by "Reference number" instead of tracking number.

In my case, I used the phone number associated to my order. I think some have had luck with the order number (or a portion of). When found, it will also give you back the actual tracking number for future reference.

It went from China, to Hong Kong, to Anchorage and a departure scan from Anchorage last night.

All while my actual order still shows as "Preparing for Shipment".

My 8 is on the same flight as yours.

Mine still says preparing to ship as well. UPS tracking by reference shows nothing. I guess we'll just have to wait.
 
Apple (and the carriers) have been really good about delivering on-time as broad statement for launches whenever a date is committed at time of order.

I clearly know the feeling since I went and tracked mine by reference, but I doubt you have anything to worry about.

Just keep impatiently waiting. 😀

I’ve had times before where I had the product in hand and the order still said preparing for shipment.

Other times The UPS status stayed the same until the day of delivery when all of a sudden it updated to show the order tracking and progress from a few days before.
 
I've got a deliver to store and its still showing order in progress.

No reason to think it wouldn't be there for tomorrow as its meant to be but who knows what will happen.
 
every year apple ships them to the big UPS hub in kentucky and maybe the FedEx hub as well where they sit until thursday. Then they are shipped out to customers for friday delivery.

sounds weird. why would they do that? they're not gaining anything.
