Do you all really think Apple will sell the iPhone 8 with AirPods? Think it's a way to respond to samsungs $100 headphones they include with the s8?

No. In my opinion, Apple wants to absorb much profit with these being a proprietary item and they are still back ordered with a 4-6 week delivery. Even if Apple would include the Airpods, that would mean they would need sufficient stock, which they don't have and then add the increased price point to the iPhone with the bundle.

It's possible Apple could do this on the future, but not in the current state the Airpods are in.

I doubt it. As an earlier poster noted, not with Tim Cook at the helm.
He'll do anything to save a penny.
By the time he's done I wouldn't be surprised to see him dispense with the iPhone's packaging altogether and simply wrap the phone in used toilet paper.
It's win-win; he'd save money and at the same time claim he's using 100% recycled material for the packaging.

If AirPods are included with the iPhone 8 there are two possibilities:
1. Apple wants about 1100 USD for the entry version but thats unlikeley
2. Apple sells 3 versions and only the top version "8 Edition" coming with AirPods but all 3 with large OLED etc.

Apple has to counter Samsung and LG and they won't with luxury prices. AirPods aren't expensive to buy separate.

I think they will ship without any headphones to cut the price.

I actually have a feeling it won't be shipped with any at all (earpods or airpods for that matter)

Disagree. Apple will include the regular EarPods. It's still a way for the user to have the option of the included EarPods, which could be a transition to the Airpods. Being they have a similar fit. Also, it's been rumored they will include the lightning adapter as well.

They really want to push people to wireless, I just feel they will have the "courage" to remove them completely as a push to all wireless.

IF Apple did include them we would still be paying for them one way or another. Tim acts like he is out to save the world but reality is he wants to see how much money he can make for Apple, which I guess is his job. I don't really think he cares about customers just profits.

Apple is giving you options. You don't have to purchase the Airpods or the iPhone 7. They still offer the 6s and SE as an option as well with the 3.5 Jack for your wireless needs.

The Airpods were just released five months ago, fully adopting to Bluetooth is not compete yet. Eventually it will be. But again, Apple isn't forcing you to Purchase their products and I can at least appreciate they offer the EarPods and lightning adapter.

IF Apple does this and IF I buy the iPhone "Whatever It Is™" then I will probably sell mine.

Not interested in putting what looks like walking sticks or mini-golf clubs in my ears. I'd rather find some other wireless earbuds.

No, not as an included item. That could reduced their perceived value ("Oh, just the crappy headset that comes with the phone"). People who have been buying AirPods feel that they're already a very good value at the current price, so why undermine that perception?

I do think that the supply issues we're seeing now for AirPods will be resolved by then, so that retailers can up-sell when they're closing deals during the "iPhone super-cycle." It wouldn't surprise me to see some sort of sales incentive, say a $30 coupon good towards the purchase of AirPods and/or Beats headphones. (I chose $30 because it's effectively rebating the price paid for the included EarPods.) That will encourage some people to trade up while fully addressing the "I don't want to pay more to get something I don't want" sentiment.

I'm sure it will come with lightning earbuds, like the 7 did. Why wouldn't they? It will probably still come with the adapter too. Traditional headphones are still way too common for Apple to not provide some alternative if their phone isn't going to support them.

Shipping with Airpods though? I wouldn't hold my breath on that...

Because I have a feeling eventually we won't have a lightning port (wireless charging)

"Eventually" won't be this year's phone. It will probably be a long time before anyone releases a phone that can only charge wirelessly. Not even Apple is that bold yet.

Maybe they will included them to make us buy during an earlier presell in September knowing we won't get the phone until Novemberish ... limited time only
