As its plainly obvious Apple has not really been the least bit interested in VR capabilities like Samsung has with their Gear VR. I've often looked over and just wished they had. Then it occurred to me.. maybe the reason its not happened yet was they wanted to wait till the experience would be better. The resolution of all the iPhones is just not there to give a quality viewing experience. Perhaps with the new OLED and potentially even 4k they will tackle that head on.

I know Id love to have a private theater on the moon from my iPhone!

What does everyone else think?

((edit)lol... title should be iPhone 8 sorry )

But I didnt ask about AR.. I asked about VR. There is a very big difference between the two.

Since Apple has not and will not say anything about the iPhone 8 till its released then anything at the WWDC is a mute point to make.
VR is easier, probably, because it's been done since the GameBoy 3D.

And Apple showed a VR development environment in the WWDC keynote, too.

So, the answer is "Yes, Apple is doing stuff with VR." Your opening statement, "As its plainly obvious Apple has not really been the least bit interested in VR capabilities..." has no basis in reality.

To add to this...

Your expectation of 4K phone has no basis in reality.

I do think that Apple is working on both VR and AR but it should not take the 8 to bring it to us. It takes good software. Sure it will happen but not sure when.

I think they've said which models will run it, but I can't remember if the cutoff is 6S or 7. I think my SE is left out.
