I’ve been using the 7 since it’s launch day last year and I never got the battery life Apple marketed last year. My SE could last the 7 last year.

But wow the 8 has been perfect for me since last week when I bought it. It has a better battery life than 7 even when comparing to a launch day 7 of last year. The A11 is really being efficient with handling low and high usage of the phone. I’m really glad I bought the 8.

You probably got a defective 7. If the 8 had better battery life, Apple would have rated it higher. If you look at the specs, they have the same hour ratings.

My launch day 7 had the hissing issue, and an issue where the phone’s usage hours increasing when in airplane mode. Got it changed and things got better, battery life wise.

But was it as good as what Apple said - best battery life in an iPhone (last year)? No it wasn’t. My SE lasted the 7 easily. Which doesn’t make sense according to specs sheet but it did happened. My hypothesis was the A10 is not as good as managing the low and high processor cores like the A11, thus improving the battery life for me at least on the 8 on daily use.
