If you don't need the dual lense camera and 1080p screen, the 8 is just about the perfect phone as a daily driver. I love my 7 with the smart battery case. It's compact and lasts me all day without having to charge until I'm ready for bed.

I was one who came here and posted how I was considering returning my 8+... I came from a 6s. I have small hands and I felt it was a bit heavy. But I couldn't get myself to make the return. The big screen, camera, and awesome battery life swayed me to keep it. And almost a month later I am very glad I did. One-handed operation was a big thing for me, but I've found it's not as important as I thought it was with my 6s. BUT I bought a popsocket and this accessory makes one-handed operation a bit more manageable (only negative being I can't use wireless charging with that on the back, but I am fine with that) And as someone stated, there is a way to move your keyboard over if you text one-handed. This phone is FAST. I didn't think anything could be much faster than my 6s, but this one is! The battery life is the best I've ever had. Though I haven't used the camera a lot yet, what I have done has been great. I really don't have any complaints anymore. I did get used to the size like many people said I would, and I don't notice the weight anymore. It's an adjustment - I wanted the screen size and camera primarily - and I am now happy with my decision! Love the color too (gold)!

Good Luck, It's Nice idea to move on Apple latest iPhone, But I recommend you should buy The Apple iPhone 7 plus because, Apple iPhone similar to the Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus little bit improvement latest phones, Also iPhone 8 and 8 Plus expensive iPhone.

While that is true (iPhone 7 / 7+ being cheaper), I am also trying to 'future-proof' myself by getting the latest A11 chip (same chip in the iPhone X) as well. I kept my iPhone 5s for 4 years (2 extra years than the average iPhone user most likely), so I tend to hang on things longer than most people. For that reason, I want to get the 'best' chip available at this time. So, it's either iPhone 8 or iPhone 8+ for me!

Thank you everyone for your time, help, and comments so far! I really appreciate the insight everyone is sharing. I will keep everyone posted with which phone I end up purchasing!

Thanks,
Asif

I feel like I can weigh in here because I’ve been using practically every iPhone - and with T-Mobile Jump on demand, I can switch my phone every month. The 6 series didn’t thrill me in features or design. I’ve been a big fan of the SE, I’ve probably been using that the longest, the 7 is actually a great phone too, not much bigger than the SE. However, the plus size has always bothered me.

I have had the 6S plus and returned it because the weight is really tiresome after long periods of time. The plus series is just not as balanced as the regular size or say an iPad.

I’m now trying the 8 plus, which I believe is heavier than the 6S plus, or at least the 7 plus. I really want to get the 8, BUT I can’t give up the damn dual cameras. I’m in charge of taking photos in our family and the plus’s is camera is too good to give it up. Ultimately, the X is probably the best for people who like the 8 but want the plus’s camera. I’ll just have to get in line until Apple can make more X’s since it’ll probably be a hot commodity until mid 2018.

Just wanted to report back. I got my iPhone 8 today

Between the 7, 7+, 8 and 8+ it wasn't an easy decision to make but after trying them all out for 2 hours at the apple town-square;) I walked out with the 8. I usually know if I've made a good choice (for myself) when I walk out the door with a product in hand. It's either buyer's remorse or a satisfactory feeling. Glad to report it was the latter one!

Thanks all for your inputs as they truly helped in my final choice.

Hey Guys,

I am the thread starter just wanted to give a mini-update. A few days ago I finally made the BIG jump from my iPhone 5s:

Do you like your S8 instead of iPhone? I have difficult time to make decision whenever I should go for iPhone 8, 8 Plus or S8. Hopefully you can tell me about your experience. Thanks.

I had an 8 Plus for a week but it was just too heavy and large overall so now I'm waiting to preorder the X. I was using a 6S and a Galaxy S8, and I couldn't get used to the 8 Plus size. I would not recommend it. Sure the battery life was great, but it was a pain to use.

Do you notice that iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have new True Tone display feature and what do you think of it? More colorful?

Provided it fits you ergonomically the 8+ is the all around better device.

I have medium size hands and it suits me fine.

I love the size of the 8 in terms of manageability, but the camera and the battery life of the plus size phones definitely make it worth it. For me anyway.
