Now I have a very solid reason to not buy this edition phone. No touch ID under the screen no money from me. Gonna keep my 6s Plus a year longer.

Seems like this under the display FP tech is a real problem. I remember last year some were thinking it might be in the 7. But we *just missed it, because it wasn't ready. Then the Galaxy S8 was supposed to have it, but it just wasn't ready. Don't worry though the note 8 will have it, until some leaks last week showing it on the back. Now this rumor. Sounds like this tech might be dead before it even begins. By the time it's ready we will have better options.

You know Apple is going to have Apple Pay no matter what and I am not sure if facial recognition would be good enough to be approved by the banks.

Iris scanning would be good. Not sure about facial recognition, do not trust it. Iris would be more secure than even a finger print.

To me, I just stay open-minded. It's just an iPhone and I'm not really that concerned what will happen. Apple is King at technology and they have this long figured out even after all these hyped rumors and speculation. Come September, watch the pre-orders shatter any previous iPhone records.

Most of the comments on these forums are just people expressing their opinions. Probably many of yours are too. People only complain that "no one cares" when the opinion doesn't match their own.

I still can't see them ditching Touch ID. Facial recognition ? I dunno I just can't see this change. The ipads have new Touch ID can't see them making it iPhone only even in the short term.

If Touch ID's on the back, I atleast hope Apple has the good sense to embed it into the Apple logo to keep the back nice and clean.
