My new iPhone 8Plus running iOS 11 is worst phone ever. And of course, I am under contract.

All previous iPhones I have owned were flawless for me, this new one fails in every way - constant app crashes, touch screen does not work consistently, photos cannot be downloaded, you name it. Oddly the other more public complaints - low battery life for example, mine does not have. My battery lasts a week. I was hoping these issue would be fixed with new iOS releases, but no fix yet despite numerous 11.x releases.

This will be the first iphone I dump the instant I am upgrade eligible.

No thanks, I just want my iPhone to work like it used to.

Instead of turning on it why not try to get to the bottom of your problems. Not everyone is having the issues you are or it would be all over these forums so there must be something going on with YOUR phone.

What apps crash constantly?
When does the touch screen quit working?
Why can you not download images?

Are you also experiencing these problems? Is iOS 11 such a suckfest that there are no other options but to switch to Android?

As if that were a panacea...every Android phone I had was a full-time battle. And not just with the manufacturer, but with Google and with the app devs and with the carrier. With an iPhone at least you get upgraded to only dealing with occasional skirmishes. Unless you're really unlucky - OP, there are a number of things you could try. A DFU wipe and set up as new is one, though that has some serious possible issues. The Genius Bar is another, but please make sure you make an encrypted backup in iTunes before you go, in case the Genius manages to blast your phone.

I had an 8 plus before getting the X. Didn't experience any of those things. Actually I was extremely impressed and until the X I found it to be the best performing iPhone I ever owned.

You should first try a restore using iTunes and restore from backup.. make sure u have a backup first! If that doesn’t work try a restore and setup as new once.. if that doesn’t work go to Apple store..my brother has ip8 on 11.1.2 no issues at all..

I would restore, those are not typical problems and not necessarily attributed to iOS 11 in general. Maybe the 8 Plus though, I haven't used it. My X running 11.2 has been flawless, better than on my 7 Plus.

Do a backup before you go incase they replace or wipe it.

Good Luck.

Yes, and I would add: make sure the backup is encrypted, and seriously consider backing it up to a computer using iTunes. In theory an encrypted backup to iCloud should be the same, but when I set up my iPhone X last weekend, the iCloud backup, which was made one day prior, lost all of my health data. I was able to restore it from an iTunes backup. When your data is concerned, think maximum safety and redundancy (if the data matters).
