Other iPhone 9: Announcement 4/15, Shipped 4/22 Price unknown but my guess is either $399 or $429.

The 11 in Canada is $979 CAD, wouldn't the 11 be close to $1000 AUD ? The 9 should be much cheaper.
Yep! I think it’s a great deal if it’s $399 USD. Specs are great, even with the iPhone 8 body. Well worth the price. This will be a huge success once the economy picks up... that’s my guess.
I’m betting some people will use the stimulus money to buy this.
I don’t think there will be a 9 Plus. That rumour may be bogus, as the price and spec is simply too close to an XR/11.
I’m only hopeful because of the iOS14 data which mentioned it + Jon Prosser‘s tweet. Personally, I would’ve never thought they’d do a Plus model, but the evidence changed my mind.
Also, as for it competing with the 11, I don’t think it would be an issue. Look at the iPad Pro VS iPad Air, it’s almost the same situation. You’ve got a more expensive modern device with Face ID, no bezels, completely new design, all the new advanced features, 4GB RAM, etc, VS a cheaper device with older features like Touch ID, more bezel, old design, less RAM etc.
Both devices have the same chip and have similar specs, but they’re separated by a lot of key differences. If the 9 Plus is priced properly, it shouldn’t affect the 11 IMO.

A 9+ is the worthy successor to my 6s+ that I've been waiting for.
PPI is everything to me.
With the stimulus funds being so close to right around the rumored launch, within the next 2 to 3 weeks, it definitely will advantage Apple in someways, but I still think the majority of consumers will either save that money/invest it elsewhere, being there’s still so much uncertainty with the economy in terms of jobs lost and the stability for a lot of average consumers isn’t exactly promising. I don’t think the iPhone will be a top priority by any means for anyone to spend their stimulus money at first glance.
However, not everyone is affected by the pandemic, and the stimulus money is merely a bonus to them in terms of using it for their favorite things, like companies with Apple Given their popularity.
Unfortunately, the advertised USD $399 price won't be realized as in many markets, it will be priced at equivalent to around USD $600-700.
So the iPhone 9 is a great deal in the US, but in countries like Indonesia, it will be competing close to the local price point of the Galaxy S20.

All the rumors say A13 but it remains very unclear which camera will be used.
I think I may have replied on another thread, but I don’t think there will be a 9 Plus. The price and size will be too close to that of the XR/11, even more so when the 12 gets released and the 11 price drops into what the XR is now.
I don’t think we have any info on that, but I’m assuming they’ll at least match the 11 or 11 Pro. A13 chip, no 3D touch for more battery room, etc, should help a lot.
In addition to the iOS 14 code that was leaked to 9to5, JP also reaffirmed 9 plus (or whatever the name will be) is a real thing on his Twitter and coming as well. He didn’t clarify if at launch as well, but would make sense.
based on what they’re doing with the 4.7” model, I presume resolution will be identical to previous plus models and I think the screens on both phones will be the same as the 8 and 8 plus

I know this is your personal opinion, but doesn’t mesh with what 9to5 mac and JP have independently reported
doesn’t make most sense to me either but if they do call it the 9, they’ll indeed need a 9 plus. If they just go with “iPhone”, then it is a bit of a head scratcher.
i want 9 and 9+ - these are literally phones me and wife are waiting for, 9 for her, 9 plus for me.. our 7s are almost dead... but apple, i want 4gigs of RAM, full hd for plus model, 256gigs option and camera sensor from 11 (and bonus ultra wide for plus model).. that would be awesome and i would gladly pay 11 prices for that...
Couldn't you pay 11 prices now for an 11? That's literally the phone you just described. Is it just about the home button/form factor?
