So, my phone has randomly dropping signal, is slow, laggy, it over heats, and since day one it has had a sticky home button (like it doesn't click and it is really sensitive) so is all this grounds for a replacement?

My iPhone 4 (bought last June when the 4 was released) developed a mushy on/off button in December after I had it 18 months. I took it to the genius bar and they immediately replaced it with a new one. It was manufactured in November according to the serial number.

So yes, take it to the genius bar. If you have something obviously physical, like a sticky home button, that's not caused by carelessness it will likely be replaced.

BTW, I had the additional year of AppleCare.

My speaker stopped working on my phone, so I brought it to Apple. The genius asked me what was wrong and I told him. His response was "okay i'll be right back with your replacement" and he never even checked to see if I was being honest. If you have a legit issue, I don't think you should have any trouble.
