"iphone activation server is temporarily unavailable"

i guess the update traffic is really picking up out there.
anybody else getting this message when they try to update their phones?

Same here... I've been trying every 15 mins for so for the last hour.

I was able to update it (turned off wifi during the waiting part) so now my phone is on 3.0 yet when I try to restore it gives me the "iphone activation server is temporarily unavailable" message.

I'll try it later tonight when it should be less traffic.

I am presuming that I am getting the same issue, however I am getting error -9807

Is this just due to the server loading as my phone is currently locked up?

Just keep trying it, it'll work.

I just kept hitting update and about 15 tries later it worked. "Updating iPhone software..." You just have to be persistent.

just restart your computer so it refreshes iTunes, worked for me when i was updating my brothers iPhone

20 tries and still no luck. Supper is on the table I just want to get this started before I go up and eat. 🙁
