What makes you say that?Although the aluminium seems more prone to damage than the previous titanium Pro devices.
Btw, is airs canera exactly same as regular iphone 17 (main)?
Between the Air and the iPhone 17, I believe they are identical. But the 17 Pro and Pro Max main lens has a bigger sensor.Yes for using 1-2x usage.
There very minimal differences from what I've seen, some very specific shots which includes depth just slightly favours the pro. But most of the shots I've seen in person between the two or pictures on the internet have shown pretty much identical shots.
It’s ok to be wrong. That’s your opinion. To me, the Air is ugly and the Pros aren’t. YMMV.

Sorry I misread your post. I thought you said the Air titanium was more prone to damage than the previous Pro titanium, which confused me haha.Just from what I’ve seen on the net/social media and there’s a few threads on here questioning the durability of the aluminium, which is obviously a less durable and softer metal than titanium and won’t fair as well during drops.
I take some of it with a pinch of salt though because there’s people who look they’ve intentionally dropped and beat their 17 Pro’s up then sayings it’s very weak and posting on social media about it.
The only damage I’ve seen posted in these forums is minor dents, chips & scuffs. I’ve not seen anyone with the cosmic orange colour that’s turning pink posting in these forums yet.
Ok 😁Sorry I misread your post. I thought you said the Air titanium was more prone to damage than the previous Pro titanium, which confused me haha.
Right, aluminum is supposed to be softer, but I think its advantages outweigh the bad for most people.
I wouldn't dream of using my iPhone without a case, I drop my phone far too often and these phones feel so slippery in use lol. Its actually quite rare to see people using any phones without cases these days in my experience.Ok 😁
Oh yeah aluminium has its advantages and if you drop any phone you run the risk of damage. If small dents and scuffs bother you then use a case. I think some horror stories of the 17 Pro’s durability are being overblown.
How’s scratchgate?Space black won me over this year. As it's the only truly BLACK phone in this year's lineup, and the way the polished titanium just disappears while perfectly blending the screen into the ceramic backing is just... *chefs kiss*
It also feels/looks like the spiritual successor to the jet black iPhone 7 (to me), which adds a healthy dose of nostalgia.
I went from 5se to XR to 13 Mini to 16 Pro Max to iPhone Air… sensing a pattern here.Mini and Air owners have some things in common, that's been clear.
I really don’t know which of the white colors to pick, however I’m leaning towards the Cloud White because I feel it will be the most neutral. Usually I prefer a matte aluminum look over the shiny polished metals, but I’m very tempted by the iPhone Air in spite of the polished sides.
Really, you’re winding him up right? The 17 Pro is better in every way specs wise, but design/aesthetics/weight is where the Air wins for most people. Not saying the 17 Pro is ugly though it looks good, but the aluminium is holding me back from upgrading my 15 Pro and its beautiful Titanium frame. That’s your opinion. To me, the Air is ugly and the Pros aren’t. YMMV.

Yes the sensor is bigger, however the actual lens is smaller, making it basically a wash. Bigger the sensor, more light gets in. Bigger the lens, more light gets in. So kind of a moot point. The only real difference is the pro with have better clarity of depth and the air will have better over all range of distance. This is because the air needs to be able to do closer up shots since it has no other lenses.Between the Air and the iPhone 17, I believe they are identical. But the 17 Pro and Pro Max main lens has a bigger sensor.
The sensor of the camera on the Air and base 17 is 1/1.56 (48mm^2) vs the 17 Pro and Pro Max is 1/1.28 (71.5mm^2). So the Air and 17 will be slightly worse in low-light scenarios.
Practically, in normal light, you won't be able to tell much difference between the main lenses of the Air/17 vs 17 Pro/PM. And as @Konvictz mentioned, there's also slightly better depth-of-field with the bigger sensor as well.
This does not make senseFor those on the yearly upgrade program, the Air is a good short term experiment. For those looking to hold for several years, get a Pro.
Air is growing on me. But the initial impression was not as strong as I expected it to be.That’s your opinion. To me, the Air is ugly and the Pros aren’t. YMMV.
My wife and I have had the 14 Pro Max since launch, and overall we never felt the need to upgrade - everything was fine except the battery, which has dropped to 82%. That’s the only reason we decided to replace them this year. I bought my wife the black iPhone Air with a Pitaka case. She loves it, and so do I - we no longer want a bigger or heavier phone.
I’ll be getting an Air for myself too, but I can’t decide on the color - either black or white. Black looks better to me, but I was thinking about trying to use it without a case, and my current 14 PM is already black. So I’ll probably just flip a coin in the store.
Give a shot to Light Gold: is a warm white that, at least in my opinion, worth it.
Even with jewelry, I don’t like yellow gold - I prefer white gold. But thanks
