iPhone Air iPhone Air at a big discount: worth it?

I've seen the Air 512GB sky blue at 677€ new.

Very tempting. Would you guys buy it either as a primary device or second smartphone?

It's still a lot of money, but considering price hikes, it's an iPhone, etc. It might be worth it, even though maybe next year the base 17 might be at that price when the 18 base gets released, and that may be a better buy.

It comes down to your use case. If you are okay with the one 48 megapixel fusion camera, single audio speaker on top and it’s battery life and have workarounds for these then it should be a great device to use. The Air comes with the A19 Pro processor and 12 GB RAM so it is fully Apple Intelligence on device just like the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. From a normal user’s perspective, the Air is more than capable of handling all day tasks. Mine lasts me all day long with a max Screen on time of 2hrs 40 minutes and a minimum time of just 41 minutes over a week’s use.

The price is great, I wish we had discounts on the Air here in the States because I would be getting another one if we had discounts like yours available.

Well, I finally bought it, black color 512GB for an even more discounted price of 575€.

It's crazy. Never thought I'd see a current gen iPhone at that price, new and sealed.

First, I saw the blue color at 677€. Was debating whether to pull the trigger or not. Someone was faster and bought it online.

I looked again later and found the black one at 575€, last one being sold. Bought it immediately and already out of stock online.

Unbelievable price. Where I live the iPhone 15 128GB is still being sold at 599€, more expensive!! iPhone 17 256GB at 845€, and iPhone 17e 256GB at 639€. Also iPhone 16 128GB at 745€. All more expensive than the 512GB iPhone Air.

Since I already have an Android phone (S25), this way I can have both platforms to play with. And also an extra phone for certain work related situations.

Not bad. What a bargain.

Even if the Air 2 is way better (and also iPhone 18), it probably won't hit this price ever. Not even the iPhone 17 when the 18 is released, not with the current price hikes.

100% worth it IMO!! I got a 1TB space black Air in May, for only £1 more than 512GB lol

Yes it’s got some compromises to get to such a light and thin form factor whilst having a 6.5” screen.

The ergonomics are superb and it’s an absolute joy to pick up and use.

Solid (but restrictive) single camera, gorgeous display, gorgeous premium design and a powerhouse having the A19 Pro paired with 12GB of RAM. Love it ❤️

The Air, to me, is a premium level iPhone without actually being premium. It has the A19 Pro processor and 12GB RAM that the premium 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max iPhones have but also has the titanium frame I feel brings a more premium look and feel to this iPhone. This was a phone clearly not to compete with the Pro series iPhones but inbetween the base and Pro which, to me, is right where it is supposed to be.

You’re buying the thinnest iPhone Apple has made that is in a 6.5 inch screen which to me is amazing!

iPhone Air is impossibly thin and an absolute joy to hold. It's an incredible tertiary device that sprinkles happiness throughout my daily existence. You will never regret purchasing it.

It makes me wonder just how horrendous the sales have been for the iPhone Air, I’ve been seeing discounts on it locally for months now, some networks (e.g. the network I am with Vodacom) at some point even did a promo where they had knocked down the price nearly 40% (it was just a little more than a 17e at some point) which is unheard of for a current generation iPhone, in fact Vodacom don’t even seem to stock the Air anymore, all the other 17 range are still at their same prices with no discounts available.

Anyway, this is great for customers, the iPhone Air has become the cheapest way to get a current generation iPhone with a Pro chip, the pricing is at some places floating around base iPhone 17 prices and even lower at some other outlets depending what country you are in, here in South Africa it seems some places have completely stopped selling it new.

Does anyone know if the Air has been completely discontinued from production by Apple?

Whilst it’s far from a big seller, Apple will probably say it’s win and a good decision as apparently it’s selling twice as much as the 16 Plus.

The Air 2 will be released next spring which will address some of the compromises that people deemed too much. I expect the second gen Air will sell even better, I’ll definitely be upgrading from my first gen Air at some point next year.

If you can get a current Air at a heavily discounted price then happy days.
IMO It’s absolutely stunning to look at, has an amazing in hand feel & user experience (to me this is the winner, it makes the compromises less of an issue) plus it has the powerful A19 Pro in such a thin elegant and super premium design.
