Over the past 2 months, my iPhone Air has been running noticeably warmer (almost uncomfortably warm) and battery life has worsened significantly, despite no changes to my usage, apps, or charging habits.

Previously, I could easily make it through the day and charge before bed. Now I’m often reaching for a charger around 18:00.

I took the phone to the Apple Store and Genius Bar diagnostics showed no hardware issues.

The only thing that has changed is that battery health has dropped from 100% to 97% during the same period.

A typical day: I start around 06:30 and am often down to ~35% by 18:00. Before this started, I’d have substantially more battery remaining.

Has anyone else experienced increased heat and battery drain recently? Could this be related to a recent iOS update, or is a 3% battery health drop enough to explain both symptoms?

Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

a battery health drop of 3% over a two month period would be very unusual, if accurate.

i have an Air.
i set my max charge to be 80% and am using it very heavily throughout the day, and have around 40% at 19:00.
health is 100%, with 152 cycles.

my Air has gotten slightly warm maybe around two times over the past several weeks, which i attribute to my using some very heavy AI process Health apps.
