Following a few steep discounts on the iPhone Air last month, we're now tracking a new all-time low price on the iPhone Air MagSafe Battery on Amazon. You can get the accessory for $59.99, down from $99.00, beating the previous low price by about $20.

The iPhone Air MagSafe Battery is only compatible with the iPhone Air, and it can add up to 65 percent additional charge to the smartphone. The MagSafe Battery supports up to 12W of fast wireless charging, and it sports a thin and light design similar to the iPhone Air.

Apple heavily discounted the iPhone Air in both the United Kingdom and United States in late March and early April, providing as much as 30 percent off the device. There have been multiple reports regarding low sales for the iPhone Air, with one stating there is "virtually no demand" for the smartphone.

If only they made these for other iPhones as well. A really dumb decision from Apple.
Yep. It would have made sense to release a battery pack that was compatible with ALL current iPhones. Battery packs, like cables, are accessories that lose massive amounts of value if non-standard.

It pushes buyers away from Apple and to a third party powerbank brand, which are standardized. Ugreen makes a pretty good slim 5000 MaH MagSafe battery pack that somehow works on all iPhones with MagSafe.

iPhone 17e, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14 Plus and the iPhone 16e (With Magsafe case and reduced charging speeds) can use iPhone Air MagSafe Battery, maybe someone can share some pictures.

Still rocking the OG MagSafe battery pack that I bought with the mini 12, still works as a top-off battery, no more, no less. What people forget is that during the teardown of the new version, they found that it was the same battery part as the iPhone Air's internal battery. That makes it a decent price for a battery swap candidate, about half the price of the battery replacement at your Apple store (which includes installation).

That is good to know. Hopefully and brackets / screwholes / cables and connectors haven't been nerfed to stop a straight swop.

Really?
I wonder why Apple doesn't say that in the specs?

It can't possibly benefit them to not be marketing the battery pack to all potential buyers.

I see these on FB Marketplace for $20, routinely.

The only thing harder to sell on FBM than the iPhone Air is the iPhone Air battery pack.

So strange to lean into an external battery pack design that only works for the Air.
Why are you searching FBM for used iPhone air magsafe battery packs?

It's a dimensions thing. If it can fit on the back of the phone then it will charge (but probably look very silly, which is why I suspect Apple doesn't mention that).

As one of the few people who adores his iPhone Air, I can tell you it's a fantastic battery pack for it and I might pick up another to keep at my desk at work at that price.

I just found a BNIB Air Battery Pack for $30 shipped on eBay with a "new lower price". Maybe the seller reads MacRumors too, haha!!

I've had every iPhone since the OG in 2007. I love my Air, but the battery life can get annoying some days. This will hold me over until the Ultra/Fold.

Wonder how much this battery killed the demand for the phone.

Due to the fact that Apple made a battery especially / only for the Air I assumed the battery life would be horrible and bought a similar model from Anker.

I have still not found myself in need of it.

Probably more than a few people who thought the same but decided that if an external battery is needed then they rather get another phone..

That exact thought struck me also, promoting a significant flaw.

The single camera lens was also a major sales block.

One of them might be an acceptable compromise, but both was a step too far especially at that Pro price point.

I wish I could justify buying one of these for my Air but I seriously get such good battery life as it is it would be a waste of money. People who don't get really great battery life with their Air I have to wonder what apps or what are they doing with it to kill the battery like they claim.

Great point. Why release an Air-only battery pack if the Air battery life is good?

I haven't felt the need for a pack until recently (I got the Air on launch day). I'm getting the '20%' and '10%' warnings pretty regularly now, and earlier than before. I don't feel my usage has gone up. I find myself trying to remember to charge while driving, something I didn't have to do before.

When I saw this article and then found a BNIB OEM pack for $30 on eBay, it was an easy buy for me. I'm good the until Ultra/Fold now, haha!!

I still have the OG magsafe battery and its going strong. Happy they updated the firmware to allow faster charging to device too.

Sad that this Air version doesnt work with any other phone. Maybe they will release a new version that does in the future, but i wont hold my breath.
