Hey everyone, I know I made a post earlier about the iPhone air , but I’m a bit torn now. Where I live, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has dropped to around $1150–$1180, while the iPhone Air is about $1000. Now with this price gap I’m not sure which one makes more sense to buy. I’ll use it for about 3 years. I’m not a heavy user — I mostly do social media, photos, video, browsing, messaging, and casual gaming. I don’t often use the Pro features, but I also wouldn’t mind having them and it’ll be nice to have/play around with if the price difference is worth it. For me, both phones are “fine” for daily use. I’m mainly trying to figure out which one is the better value overall . I’d really appreciate any advice or input from people who’ve used either model (or upgraded from a Pro to an Air).Thanks!.

You haven't really given us an example of your use case to allow for advice/opinions to be given.

My use case is neither light or heavy. Mostly social media, photos, video and movie streaming, browsing, messaging, and light ChatGPT use. I don’t use the Pro features often, but it’ll also be nice to have them if the price difference is worth it. Both phones would work fine for me day-to-day, so I’m mainly trying to figure out which one is the better overall value now with that price gap.

Well if u use it for 3 years $150 is negligible. 1000days without worrying to charge it during the day and have all the cameras/lenses with you.
And the resell value will also be higher

Air for its better Soc, much more RAM, lighter weight and portability/easier to handle.

I previously had a 16 Pro, now have an Air.

You mentioned photo and video. the 16pm will have the better overall camera system, but the air will have better selfie capabilities. The air does have more RAM as someone mentioned, but the 16pm will have the better GPU. The 16pm will have a larger battery and slightly faster charging.

I would probably choose the 16pm, but that is due to a few things that I prioritize. It's a very close comparison and I think you should just weight what you prioritize and what form factor you prefer.
