So I decided yesterday to do a little experiment with the 15pm, to see how long this thing can last. I’ve always wondered- Apple speak of “all day battery life” but what would happen if you literally used it all day with screen on?
So at 11.30am I decided to do it. It was charged to 100% and I was gonna use the thing all day, until I went to bed at 12am.
When I had stuff to do I’d leave video on or podcast with screen on, rest of the time it’s a mix of app usage, video, web surfing etc.
No games though. I don’t play those on a phone can’t stand touch input games. Dark mode was on and I have brightness at 70%, not auto.
So…….basically I clocked up 11.5 hours total screen on usage. That was impressive I thought.
But the amazing thing is- I still had 46% battery left!!!
Wow this thing is a battery monster! Really shocked me that I could easily use it for a whole waking day of 16 hours or more and still have quarter of a battery left! Or even for those who play games, get a couple hours gaming in.
Yes, I know there’s much more arduous tasks I could use that would use much more battery - but I don’t do those so this is for my and I guess most folks use case.
Just thought I’d share this as it goes to show how much effort Apple has put into power efficiency, probably thinking of AOD etc and delivering that famous all day battery life!
