I know that the iPhone can act as a BTPAN device to share the connection with other machines. I am wondering if the iPhone can connect to a BTPAN device. I currently have a Sprint Mogul and have used it for internet sharing numerous times in the past. I am wanting to use it as a modem for the iPhone and have the iPhone connect to it. I have tried the wifirouter application and it works great, but was looking for something that is native on the device. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am also very curious about this. I have a Sony Ericsson Z750a, which supports Bluetooth PAN network sharing. Is there any way that my iPhone can draw its internet connection from my Sony Ericsson Z750a through Bluetooth PAN?

I read just yesterday - on the front news page here, I think - that the iPhone currently doesn't support tethering, but that Apple and AT&T are in "discussions" about whether to allow it.

That isn't what we are asking. We want to know if there is any way that an iPhone can GET an internet connection through a different phone that has Bluetooth PAN. In other words, the iPhone doesn't have its own data plan, but gets the data from a 2nd phone.

This is not possible on the iPhone as the bluetooth stack is crippled. It might be possible if the you jailbreak and a 3rd party app is available but that is going to be the only way.

You cant do ANYTHING with the iPhone bluetooth except use a headset (even if you jailbreak). This is one of the worst things about the iPhone, right after no copy and paste.
