Alright, and this worked for the longest time!
I have a gmail account that I forward all my @towson.edu stuff to. When I sync the correct mail account to the iphone through iTunes, I changes the address to "x@gmail.com". Now in my mail settings on my Mac, it says @towson.edu for the email address.
For the longest time this would work. My mail would be forwarded (which still is 100% fine). Any mail I create from my Mac gets sent through Gmail as "@towson.edu", but I cannot change the address to that anymore on the iphone!
WTF!!! @towson.edu is a registered name on my gmail account, so it works fine, but the iphone just wont take the email address and use it anymore. It worked for quite a while, but now, is not.
