I normally use a Sonos system to play my playlist in Music and this work without a problem. Lately however I have been listening to my playlist via my iPhone and headphones while I am working in the yard. Invariably, Apple Music will start playing music that is not on my playlist and I cannot figure out how to get it to stop and only play the songs on my playlist.

A long time ago when I started making playlist, iTunes had a feature called something like genius suggestions that would suggest songs to play and there was a way to turn this off. I cannot find that to stop on my iPhone.

This only happens when I am off network, and playing the music from my iPhone. My Sonos is linked to my Apple Music account through my computer, which if I am in the house and on headphones this does not occur, so I am fairly sure it is something on the iPhone Music app. Also, all of my playlist are purchased and not part of an Apple Music subscription.

Any help would be appreciated.

Post-iOS 16 or 17-ish this genius feature is now only on macOS Apple Music app, so instead you will have to check for this infinity sign on the playlist and queue which is auto play.
