iPhone and POP email - configure poll?

Hi,

I am about to get an IPhone (I think!). I have a BB Pearl now which is great but I have had it for almost a year now and would like a change. 'Push' email doesnt really work with POP servers on the BB, it just polls. Can I configure the IPhone Mail app to always be running and to Poll every 5 minutes? I would like a BB like experience but on the IPhone.

1) push doesn't work with POP at all...not just the BB
2) iPhone can check for mail every 15min, 30min, 60min or manually

The shortest amount of time is 15 min unless you use choose to use Yahoo Push Email which does not poll.
