Hi,

I have a iphone 3GS at the moment (UK based) with O2. I'm leaving pretty soon to travel down to New Zealand which will take me through about 20 countries etc.

I'm looking at updating my blog via my phone and I was wondering about 3G worldwide. I'm not up to date but from what I can gather I just buy a sim card (allowing 3G) in the country i'm in and away I go?

Is that the basis of it?

Thanks

Yep, you can do that as long as your iPhone is unlocked. O2 will do this for you, just fill out a form on their iPhone unlocking page.

Another option is to pick up a Maxroam SIM which will give you a fixed data allowance for multiple countries; taking the hassle out of finding a local SIM in each country.
