I've spent hours browsing forums and reports trying to find whether someone is experiencing the same thing that's happening to me, but since I couldn't find any, hopefully someone can read this thread and give me some advice on how to fix this.

I was installing applications through the installer, and as usual, when you close the installer, the phone does a soft reboot. After the reboot, the touch screen still works fine, EXCEPT for the fact that when I press on any of the application icons, the icon turns grey (usually it turns grey momentarily then launches the application) and nothing happens, so basically the phone is quite useless now.

PLEASE, DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM OR CAN DIRECT ME TO SOMEWHERE WHERE I CAN FIND A FIX FOR THIS??? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

    thanx.

Have you done a restore? That usually fixes most problems. Just restore it to whatever firmware version you are using. It won't be jailbroken, but it should work. Then you just have to jailbreak it again.

    Solution!

I have this happen every time after I reboot the phone. The screen is responsive until I launch an application, then only the Home button works, and I can only flick through the springboard.

---> All you need to do is restart the springboard! This may not be possible, because when you reboot the springboard would restart, but there would still be the same problem after reboot. SO, if you have the application Respring.app all you need to do is tap that to restart the springboard. If you don't have it, I strongly suggest you get it!

Otherwise, you can SSH through the terminal. Then all you need to do is type:

    Code:
    launchctl stop com.apple.SpringBoard
Does the trick, and you are all set. Saves you from a restore!

Hope this helps... A few months late though :p
