iPhone apps on your Mac?

I have a Macbook but not an Iphone. Is there a way to use some of the cool apps made for the iphone on your Mac computer? Some sort of an app-enabling program?

You can register as a developer and get the SDK with the simulator (it might require some reading to get to know it first).
