I had to get an At&t tilt as well as my iphone. My iphone will not do alot of anything when it comes to business. Iphone is not a good replacement for a laptop unless you are only using it to browse.

He is right.

You should look into getting a tilt or something like a sony xperia x1. This will fulfill your needs much more than an iphone ever will.

As the first poster said though, you seem to be looking to justify your want of a new iPhone. Its an appealing phone, but it really won't help where you want to go much.

there is no way i would be able to live without my MBP,

iPhone is good for listening to music and watching tv shows on the underground and makes a great phone, and provides me with mobile access to my mail but i would not be able to rely on it fully, no doubt its becoming a great device and extremely useful with google maps etc. i love it to bits but couldnt substitute my MBP, no way...

Since getting the phone in early Feb and the iMac in early March, my old laptop has been turned on exactly once. And that was to retrieve a document that I had forgotten to transfer. As far as my Internet usage at home, all of my email accounts forward to my yahoo that is pushed to my phone and all of my networking sites notify me by email when I receive messages/invitations/etc. So basically, if I have sufficient time on my phone on any given day, I won't even wake up my iMac that evening. I'd say for the casual web user, the iPhone is a great replacement for a laptop. On the other hand, if you're using it for business my guess is its gonna come up short somewhere along the line.

I'm considering selling my PowerBook to fund an iPhone. All I use it for is internet surfing and email, since I got a slim Apple keyboard I've found no need to do much typing on the PowerBook.

It basically means I'll be able to carry a smaller bag when travelling, take a load off my back etc. A much better machine for my situation.

And it can take (low res) pics :p
