iPhone as iPad remote?

I am in love with the new HBO GO app, and want to leave my iPad hooked up to my tv full time. But it is a pain to have to get up, select a new video, then return to the couch to watch. With all this new technology, I refuse to turn the channel like I am living in the 60s! Does anyone know of an app (jailbreak or not, doesnt matter to me) that will allow you to use your iphone as a remote to control the ipad?

there are jailbroken apps that will start a VNC server on your iPad, (screen sharing in OS X) and you will be able to connect to it with a simple vnc client form the app store.
