Is there a way to use the iPhone as a webcam for a PC or something using an app (preferably free)?

Not that I know of. If there will be an app for webcam use, I bet it will only be available to work on jailbroken phones. For some reason I don't see Apple passing any webcam apps.

Edit: I forgot about uStream Broadcaster...

There actually is an app like that called iWebcamera. I read a review about it and it was supposedly working pretty well. Costs 4.99, though..

Use the Ustream broadcaster app. Then you can stream live over 3G to whoever you want.

hmm okay I'll check that out. Though I don't really need it to work on 3G, wifi works fine (as I want to hook it up to my desktop).

EDIT: what I really want is to use it for skype or something (as currently you can only use fring and it's a bit buggy).

Any updates on this? Have been wanting to do the same for Skype but dont really want to just go buy a webcam if something I already have will work.
