I figured out theres a file, specifically a game file, that I can modify. It's just a text file.

I was wondering if I could inject a new file into my iPhone backup files, then just restore to that backup to give me the modified game file.

I've googled it and I haven't found anything similar. I haven't really found anything on this board trying to do this either.

Assuming the file in question is one that gets backed up via iTunes, then iBackupBot will let you do what you want.

If your file is not backed up, and assuming your device is jailbroken, then you could always edit the file in place using iFile or simply ssh into your device.

I have a 4S so jailbreaking isn't really a solution as of right now.

Now the iCopyBot program isn't free and seems sort of sketchy.

    Thanks for the response though!!

It's iBackupBot that you need. It looks horrible being a Windows port, but works fine. You can use it in trial version. AFAIK, the only limitation of the trial is a popup asking you to register. I've never had any issue with the app and have used it several times to transfer files from older backups when upgrading my iPhone's iOS, as well as 'injecting' files into a current backup like you want to do. Give it a try.
