I took advantage of apple’s $29 battery replacement for my IPhone X in December. Recently, my phone has been getting very hot recently and the battery dies much faster than normal.

I checked my battery health and it says it’s at 90%. This battery is only 6 months old and I was charging it every night so it’s definitely lower than normal.

Does the battery warranty last a year? I can’t find the warranty for the battery, ONLY for it being under the normal purchase warranty.

Thanks.

I thought they did a 90 day warranty on the entire device from the day they swap it out, or kept your existing warranty, whichever lasts longer.

All that said you should be able to check under their warranty checker online and that will give you a definitive answer.

Jesus I don’t know how you’re supposed to know that your battery is degrading very fast within 90 days!

It’s 90 days on the battery only not the entire device

That’s what I thought too.

I’d say get it replaced again. 90% after 6 months is quite a bit of degradation.

If you had your battery replaced in December, you don’t get a new 1 year warranty. You get 90 days warranty on the new battery so if it’s past 90 days then your warranty expired.

Warranty isn’t the issue. His health is at 90%. He would need to pay regardless.

Look like Apple just use old battery for $29 battery replacement. I have an iPhone 6S at 86% health after 7 months. It degrades faster than normal.

Yes. In USA/EU Apple used poor quality batteries at USD 29. But not in India. This has been my experience too.

So you’re saying if I replace the battery again at $69 it should last much longer?

I was about to sell this iPhone and go to android! Lol! If it’s because of the deal then I kind of understand why it’s crud

There’s a good chance it would last much longer with a fresh battery.
