I just purchased an iPhone today and was just curious on how AT&T does the billing I know i'll be paying the $59.99 plus taxes/fees per month for the plan and the $36.00 activation fee does AT&T also bill an extra month on top of the $96 dollars or so i'll be paying for my first bill? Also any combined billing discounts available for the iPhone if i combine all my AT&T services together?

your question is probably best factually answered by an AT&T person. I would call them even though there may be someone here who's very familiar with the pricing and billing.

The answer is yes. When you first start up service you will see prorated charges plus the next month in advance. How much those charges are depends on when your billing cycle closes. You are charged from the activation date till the close of your billing cycle then you will also pay for the next month of service on that first bill. It could be anywhere from one day of service to a whole month
