iPhone broke after update

    I plugged my iphone 5 in my laptop and installed the latest version, then after this it has just completely froze, i can't turn it off or anything, the only thing that works is siri - also it is getting very very hot

    Hold the home button and power button together and see if reboots.

    It doesn't, its completely unresponsive... although I can flick between screens and the battery and clock still works.
    I will take it into apple tomorrow I think

    I don't think completely unresponsive means what you think it means...

    alright well its not responding how it should, the screen flicks between pages, the battery and clock symbols are accurate, and siri responds but I don't see it on the screen. None of the apps will load and i cant lock or switch it off

    i presume its not jailbroken right?


    put it in DFU and re-install iOS.

    if that doesn't work its hardware.

    No its not jailbroken
    I don't really know how to do any of that if im honest, although I have tried plugging it in my laptop - no luck
    I live very close to an apple store anyway so will pop in with it tomorrow
    Will keep posted

    Google DFU restore before you take it back to Apple.

    After a grand total of 3 seconds, I found this link on how to put your phone into DFU Mode: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034

    I'd suggest doing that before going into the Apple Store, they have enough people to deal with as is.
