iPhone Bug since the first iphone os

This has always bugged me but I seemed to have never brought it up til now.
Whenever I'm in a forum using iphone's safari and use the search feature like pictured below, it the search field always disappears the first time I try to enter text. then I would always have to select search and start retyping.
This always happens in forums including macrumors.

It happens to me too. I'm on os 3.0. I hit search, I type the first letter, the search box disappears. I hit search again, then I can type in the box. Very annoying.

+1. I'm on OS 3.0.1. However, I never use that search option normally (I did it just to test the OP's issue). I usually click on the Search Forums.
