I heard rumors that the white iPhone is thicker. Does it still raise the iPhone off the table to protect from scratches etc?

The bumper actually goes over the front and back lips of the phone, so yes, it will raise both slightly. The thickness of the white iPhone will not affect this.

the white iphone is not thicker, i tested it myself this past weekend.
