A couple of flaws I've noticed with the bumper.

The silent switch is a little too far in and it's hard to reach unless you have small fingers/nails. I've heard reports that the 3G switch was easy to change in your pocket but I've never had any problems with the switch on my 3GS.

The power button felt weak at first but now it clicks nicely like the volume buttons.

Also a huge flaw is that headphone jacks dont fit in the headphone socket because the case is too thick at the top and the hole around the socket is too small. Did they even test the cases?!

Anyone else found any other problems?

Another flaw, is that if you have an ipod integration system in your car, the 30 pin connector will not fit with the bumper on, because the opening is Apple 30pin specific...

irritating.

The headphone jack and dock connector work great with Apple-made cables.

With 3rd-party ones it's 50/50.

But hey, that headphone hole is just the soft rubber. Get out your electric drill...shouldn't be too hard to fix that one!

I agree about the silent switch.

Everything else seems to work really well, though.

Seems very flimsy. I can't imagine dropping the iPhone with this thing on. Anyone know if you can return it opened to an Apple store? Opened it about 10 mins ago and it's not for me.

Edit: Ordered it online.

And for certain people on these forums... make sure you remove the iPhone from the bumper before using that drill.

One flaw I've noticed with the bumper case: nothing covers the ridiculously easy-to-break glass back.

dude, its a bumper, not a bumper "case". if you want something to cover the entire back, get a full case.

it's like saying the bumpers of your car is flawed because it's not protecting the entire chassis.

that's been the biggest problem. all my ipod plugs are not gonna work...

if you look at the design of the case, I don't think that I can dremel that part out as there is only a thin layer of plastic that's there, presumably giving it some rigidity. I've been slipping the case off when I use the phone in my car, but I'm definitely on the lookout for another case.

Sell it on eBay. They're going for $40-$60, depending on the color. I ordered a white & green one, but I think I'll sell the white one. :D

Also, I love the bumper. I've pre-ordered a GroveMade Bamboo case, which won't come in for a couple of months, so I'll probably stick with it until that comes in.

It's probably more of a job for a dremel. They make all kinds of bits, several which I'm sure are just fine for this sort of thing.

Yes, I'm very familiar with the moto-tools, but I didn't want to get too complicated here. :p

(My dad loves his so much I'm surprised he hasn't made a holster for it yet. Did you ever see that Simpsons where Homer gets a gun and uses it for everything? That's my dad with his moto drill.)

I figure that if you have one, you'll know to use it.

The Otterbox Defender case is waaay too bulky for me. Anyone have any other suggestions for something slim that covers the back?
