iPhone busted - can I put the sim into a cheap little phone?

Hi friends,

My iPhone has officially died, spontaneously. I really need a phone to work this weekend, and Apple is wrapped up in sales of the 3GS. Can I put my SIM in some cheap $10 phone? Will that work?

Yep, thats what I did when I sold my iPhone 3G and was waiting for my 3GS to come in.
