Iphone calendar entries

Hi When trying to enter an event into calendar I get the following message

Do you have multiple calendars on your iPhone (such as 'school', 'home', 'work') etc?

If so, check that you have a default calendar set:

1. Tap Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Tap Default Calendar.
3. Select a Calendar - for example 'Home'.
4. Open the Calendar app and try to schedule an event.

• So do you have multiple calendars set up? If so, how many?
  
• Have you tried restarting your iPhone? (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, Slide to Power off, then Press Sleep/Wake again to restart it).
  
• Is your iPhone jailbroken?
