iPhone Camera Issue

Why is it that sometimes when I take a picture with the phone held normally (up and down) that when I look at the picture in my photos its turned sideways and when I turn the phone sideways it flips to the way I took the picture (still sideways)? If that makes any sense haha. If not Ill try and post pics!

this is how it appears in my camera roll but when I took it it was the right way with the letters from left to right

This happens to me too, your not alone.

I would take a photo in landscape but when viewing the final photo it comes out sideways.

But it happened to me when I pointed the camera down at an object.

So pointing it down in landscape mode might confuse it.
