So i took my first pictures with the iphone 4 of my 3gS and the pics came out yellow. I just read on 9to5 regarding the same issue (pic is posted above).

I also have greenish discolor on dark photos. Anyone have similar issues?

I can confirm this is a problem, and that it only affects certain iPhone 4's. Defect?

Here is a picture taken with my iPhone 4 (32GB model), which is having the problem (more pronounced in CFL lighting):

Here is a picture taken my girlfriend's iPhone 4 (16GB model) which does not have the problem:

These were taken seconds apart. This only affects the main camera, the front facing camera white balances correctly.

And yes, of course I tried to white balance mine by focusing on something white. Will not do it.

Just shot and edited this video for comparison:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-olnD3m0eMI

First shot is on the non-affected iPhone 4. Obviously the image is somewhat yellow due to the CFL lighting, but I focus in on a white clothe to give a more proper white balance.
Second shot is with the affected problem iPhone 4. Everything is much more saturated and yellow, and focusing on the white clothe does not do a proper white balance.

    Calling Applecare tomorrow morning!

r3volol, thanks for posting the video. I am hoping the white one will be out within 30 days so i can exchange. I prolly shouldn't mention my camera issues or they might give me a replacement of the black one instead? i dunno.

and Jessica, i was at a bar last Friday night and a friend used his iphone to take pics of a bunch of our friends and all their eyes had that weird white glow, im wondering if that's the same thing you are referring to.

Maybe wait a week or two for stock to catch up and then show them the issue, it should be covered by the warranty.

Called Apple and explained the problem. She set me up with a Genius Bar appointment for this afternoon. Will let you all know what happens.

It's pretty easy for me to duplicate the problem with any CFL light source. The back-facing camera yellows the overall image, while the front facing one seems to correct the WB more properly.

My local Apple Store looked at my phone and took some test pictures, and did a diagnostics and restore. They concluded it was defective and issued me a replacement. Anyone with overly yellow photos should contact Apple. Helps if you can reproduce the problem at the store. Anyone with the same issue should not have a problem doing so.
