Pretty sure it has to do with your carrier or their carrier and not the iPhone

Is your phone jailbroken and who is your carrier?

If you have the first gen iPhone you cannot send MMS.

If you have anything newer than that, then go here:

Settings>Messages>Make sure MMS Messaging is turned on.

If you have MMS enabled, then its the carrier's fault. Has nothing to do with the iPhone...unless you've got the 2g. :D

Like the others have stated, if you have a 3G iPhone or newer model, it's probably your carrier and not the phone. A simple alternative would be to download an app like WhatsApp and send the MMS that way. Your recipiant also needs the app installed on their phone as well.

I have an iPhone 3Gs with MMS enabled and normally I can send and receive picture messages but sometimes I get a text message (instead of receiving the picture) along the lines of "The object has been removed because your handset cannot display it." Anyone know what this means and why it only happens sometimes?

Why dont you send it via email as an attachment? I have the same problem. Couldn't find the mms option thats why I send pics via email (5 at a time).

Are you sure the person you're sending the photo to can actually receive photos on their phone? Not everyone can.

I have AT&T, and have no issues sending pics or videos via MMS. Sounds like you need to call AT&T, check your settings, and make sure you have 3G when sending...

What version of iOS are you running? Does MMS work for some people and not others, or does it not work at all?

Like others have said, it's most likely a carrier issue. However, I ask which version you are running, b/c I had ran into a problem when I updated a while back where I couldn't send MMS to certain people (I forget which version) The next time I updated, it was working again, and has been ever since.
