Grr, I've been checking email in line at Starbucks the last two mornings and .... nothing! :) I'm obviously going to the wrong place. It is nice to have a device that makes it easy to use the $30/mos tmobile hotspot account I've been paying for (and haven't been using nearly enough).

I did attend a family reunion last weekend the day after getting the phone... it felt like I was either giving one long iPhone demo and/or watching helplessly as it got passed from person to person :)

That is EXACTLY what happened to me. There is no way you can have this phone and not cover it. I put it on as soon as I got into my car. It turned out just like the photo. Then, I went into the store, showed the employee. We tried the second one, same thing. So, it's not just you. I ended up getting the black incase, which I am really happy with. It doesn't cover around the ear or menu button, but the protective film will do.

I absolutely loved my Xtreme Mac silicon cover for my ipod mini I had a while back. Hopefully, they will come out with an iPhone cover!

On iPhone night, I picked up the Skintight from Speck. It cost $29.95 and included in the box were two cases and a belt clip. I slipped on the case as per the instructions and....

iPhone Case

I bought an INCASE enclosure for my iPhone the day I bought it. Initially I wanted something cheap and durable until something better came out. I have to say though that I'm completely happy with the case. It's tough, snug, doesn't interfere with either usability or the slick design of the iPhone.
I bought the black one of course, which makes the phone look even slicker. I just found the link to the INCASE site. This is the one I bought:

i had mine out at costco and some random guy started asking me about it, he was kind of a weirdo so when he asked if he could see i faked a phone call and walked off...hopefully he doesn't read macrumors...

notice this specific case isn't on apples website anymore. They must have gotten a ton of complaints/returns.

WOW its also off the Speck Products Website!!!!

I have the same case (clear and black set). The black fits almost perfectly but its low quality.. a.k.a. it wasnt cut perfectly and is a little jagged.

My clear is worse quality and is stretched and even has a small TEAR!

Apple says that I need the box to exchange it, its more than a month since i got it. Do you think that maybe theres a way I can return it and get something else?

The incase rubber/silicone ones are AMAZING! They are the only one I see people using and they are getting great reviews. They come in black, grey, and red. Black looks really slick!

I realized after my PowerBook 12" took a fall in a non-Apple-approved backpack that I needed a case for my iPhone right away, so I looked at what was in store, a really odd looking leather thing, and the incase rubber thing. I got the incase cause it was cheaper, but now a friend of mine who bought the leather one decided to get the incase. Apparently that other thing he had first could let the iPhone slide out and his sleep/wake button is now permanently jammed cause he dropped it!

Now the incase does have two drawbacks, it doesn't work in the dock cause it's too big, and it stretches every time you put it on or take it off. I just use the USB cable, no dock is necessary, and avoid taking the case on or off. But it does cleverly disguise my iPhone so nobody notices that I've got one, which is nice, cause when they do notice there's always lots of fuss. Literally, I get "oohs and ahhs" and then gasps. And the few times I have dropped it (albeit on soft surfaces and from 3 feet, not 12) nothing has broken, it just bounces. :)

yeah I had the ispeck, then the incase black rubber case=king of scratches and dirt magnet. Then I got the crystal jacket umm yeah. I loved it at first, but then that also ended up scratching my phone and even the film that came with it.
I think I'll just go naked for now.

I have been running naked now (LOL) since I took back one of the clear acrylic cases. My gripe was the way the case altered the intended form factor. Anyway, I carry the phone everyday in my front right pocket... jeans, shorts, khakis, whatever. Not an issue yet. Thankfully, the one drop thus far was from about two feet, onto pile carpet. Screen and body both remain scratch free (knock on wood) like Jobs intended.

Still not back on the website...
Speck told me that they discontinued it because of stretching.

As i said, my clear ripped!

Speck hasn't called back yet :(
