A friend gave me a iphone belt case that has a magnet for the closure.

I'm a little leary of using it since magnets and computer don't work well next
to each other.

Then again I can't imagine a case company making a case what would adversely
effect the phone.

Its a freebie and I'd like to use it, but....

The iPhone's memory uses flash memory and hence won't be damaged by magnetic fields. So if the magnet isn't too strong it should be OK.
