If you can't get 4G or 3G on your phone because of a building or dead spot can text and phone calls still work ? If so why and how?

Basically depends on if you get 2G because that's what phone calls and SMS use (or at least can use).

Or you can use wifi calling. Out carrier's have this as an available feature now.
