My iPhone 6 shipped and is scheduled to arrive on Friday but I noticed something this morning: the $693 charge for it completely disappeared from my card.

I ordered from Apple and I paid with my debit card (I had forgotten my wallet in my car that night/morning) and there was a temporary hold until yesterday. There was also one for the ATT order that I made and eventually cancelled. That one disappeared too, but that actually makes sense. I know my order wasn't cancelled since the phone is still on it's way.

Anyone else experience something like this?

When you placed your order you authorized apple to take the money. Banks only hold a pending charge for 3 days once apple ships your phone they will take the money

Makes sense. They shipped yesterday though and the charge disappeared this morning.

So that should mean that I may get my status updated soon. Since tracking says it's in China since 15th and Apple says it's praparing for shippment for a few days now.

This is correct. Pending charges fall off.

If your full charge was taken off, though, it may be a problem or just a glitch.

the charge was showing up as "processing" since 13th. no change on it, even tho it was a full charge. and I used a debit card, so I guess that might be the reason I got the full charge processing.

I already pre-ordered my iPhone 6+ on Sprint. Can I get the AppleCare+ now or is it too late?
