Hey... I'm wondering if the power charger that comes with the iPhone is compatible with all iPhone models?

Yes, it just charges very slowly (super slow if you've got an iPad 3!)
He's absolutely right, it charges very slowly.
Actually, I meant using the iPad's charger (10w) with the iPhone, rather than the iPhone's charger (5w) with the iPad.
The iPhone will charge faster but it has an inbuilt circuit that steps the amps down
Ah, I see. So there's no risk doing that?

By charger you mean the white cable with USB on one end and 30-pin dock on the other? Is there any voltage/current regulating circuit in that and where, USB side or dock side?

No, that's a cable. ;)

This is an iPad charger:

I have an iPad charger in the living room that both me & SWMBO use to charge our iPhones, plus also my iPad 3.

you won't charge an iPad 3 using an iPhone charger in 8 hours.

My iPad 3 charges in 8 hours with an iPhone charger.

So you're saying that when your iPad 3 is completely out of charge, you can stick it on your 5w iPhone charger and have it fully charged in 8 hours?

[Edit] - Just to be clear here, can you clarify exactly what charging kit is in this equation?

I'm presuming it's the standard white iPhone cable, connected to the white iPhone mains plug that came in the box, plugged in to the wall?

One of these?

And one of these?

Or maybe one of these if you're in the US!
